To reduce the fat content of cooked and crumbled ground beef by up to 50%, cook it in a nonstick pan, blot the meat with paper towels, move the meat to a strainer and rinse the meat by pouring hot (not boiling) water through it for a few minutes.

A new study in the March 7 issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association reports that Internet diet sites that adopt a "hands-on" approach to weight loss can help people meet and maintain their weight-loss goals. People in a plan with weekly contact and feedback were twice as likely to achieve their weight-loss goal as participants placed in a less structured Internet plan.

Testimony Emphasizes Risks of Obesity and Inactivity

The National Alliance for Nutrition and Activity (NANA) this week testified
to a House Appropriations Subcommittee on the rising incidence of overweight
and obesity

                                   Annually, between 310,000 and 580,000 deaths can be related to these
                                   unhealthy habits, about the same number of deaths caused by tobacco use.
                                   Poor eating habits and physical inactivity cause five times more deaths than
                                   HIV, guns, and illicit drug use combined. They contribute to the incidence
                                   of heart disease, stroke, cancer, high blood pressure and diabetes, which
                                   together form four of the seven leading causes of death in the United
                                   States

With recent statistics from the National Health and Nutrition Examination
Survey indicating that 61 percent of the adult population is now overweight
or obese,

An "on the go" quick meal!

2/3 cup (unthawed) - BLUEBERRY, RAW, Blueberries, raw
